NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Alain Burrese

I have been a martial artist since the 1980s when I first started training in High School. I served as an infantry paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and as an instructor at the 2nd Infantry Scout Sniper School at Camp Casey, South Korea. I've worked Security, Bouncing, and Bodyguard positions, and I have a B.S. in Business, a minor in Communication, and a J.D., or Juris Doctorate, in Law. I'm a licensed attorney in the state of MT and have advanced mediation training. Besides mediating I've taught negotiation and mediation classes and courses.

I wrote and instructed in 11 DVDs which are now available as downloads. I've switched to working on creating on-line courses for future projects.

I've written one novel, three tough guy movie quote books, and 5 books on safety and self-defense with the most popular being Survive A Shooting: Strategies to Survive Active Shooters and Terrorist Attacks. I have plans for a number of future books.

Now I use what I’ve learned to help people just like you enjoy more of life, succeed, and do so safely. I’ll show you how to stay safe while you enjoy life traveling or just staying at home, and I'll help you succeed at those goals that mean the most to you.

My Story

I have always been a teacher. I taught at the 2nd Infantry Scout Sniper School when I was in the U.S. Army. I taught a class on Success Principles through the Honors College at the University of Montana in the early 1990s. I've taught safety classes since the first one I co-taught with Marc MacYoung in 1994. I've taught Hapkido classes and seminars since the late 1990s. After becoming an Attorney in 2001, I took advanced mediation and negotiation classes and started writing a regular column for the Montana Lawyer magazine on negotiation and started teaching negotiation and mediation classes and courses. During this time, I also published my first book on self-defense with Paladin Press in 1996, and my first video with Paladin Press in 1999. More books and videos followed.

Now I empower others so they can enjoy life safely without fear. I teach and write about Staying safe, Active Shooter Response, Self-defense, Hapkido, Effective Communication, and how to achieve more and enjoy life

Why I Do It

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. This isn't anything negative about the brave men and women serving our communities, it's just the reality of the job. We are all our own first responders, and no one cares as much about your safety as you do.

I teach people through my books, videos, articles, podcasts, courses, and live programs how to stay safe and defend themselves if they have to. With this knowledge you can go out and enjoy all the good things life has to offer and do so safely.
